My very first BCD years ago was the original Spartan BCD. Even back then, it oozed with features normally seen in high-end BCDs - quick-release shoulder straps, pull-dump, and 2 OPVs (one behind the right shoulder, and the other on the lower right). Solid construction, with high strength Denier Cordura exteriors, this BCD got me through my early dive days.

Over the years, I've seen the Spartan line improve, with more features every time. But the bottom lineand main feature for this BCD has remained the same:

Hi Ed,

Yes the Ventec Fins are much lighter compared to the other rubber fins in the market, making them much more comfortable and a little less stiff.

Regarding the plastic buckles on the spring fin straps, thanks for the constructive criticism. Actually we gave the option of the spring straps using the same buckle system as the rubber straps the fins come with just so you could have a spare pair of straps without having to change the entire buckle system. But yes, we will take into account your input to improve the buckle system for the spring straps for the next batch! Cheers

Just a comment on the fins. Its a tried and tested design. A lot lighter than your typical SP jet fin. I'm sure they'd be a lot more comfortable too. Would loooove to try these puppies out in open water.

My only contention were the attachment points for the optional spring straps. The plastic buckles could be a potential failure point in an otherwise bulletproof design. The reason for going to spring straps would be to reduce the possibility of breakage, as well as to ease donning and doffing of the fins. Quick release buckles would be superfluous.
